Famous Car Friday: The 1980 Jeep CJ-7 "Golden Eagle" from Dukes of Hazzard

Although  it was "The General Lee", owned by the Dukes Boys, that was the most famous car in the Dukes of Hazzard, this  white Jeep CJ-7 "Golden Eagle" and its driver were also involved in quite a few car chases.  Name that car and that character!

Dixie. Driven by Daisy Duke!

In her trademark white 1980 Jeep CJ-7, christened "Dixie" with a golden eagle emblem on the hood (and the name "Dixie" on the hood sides). Daisy worked as a waitress at the Boar's Nest, the local bar owned by Boss Hogg. Daisy often used her looks and her position at the restaurant to get insider information to help the Dukes in foiling Hogg's various schemes. Daisy also has the distinction of having her trademark provocatively high-cut jean short shorts named after her: Daisy Dukes.

The CJ-7 was made up until 1980, but still continues to be used in the sport of mud racing, with either the stock body or a fiberglass replica. CJ-7 has been successfully and widely used as a favorite for rock crawling, through simple and complex modification. These last Jeeps produced were also highlighted with a factory dash plaque that read, "Last of a Great Breed - This collectors edition CJ ends an era that began with the legendary Jeep of World War II".

The Jeep is an American institution. There is Only One: Jeep.

Here at Southern Auto Liquidators, we have a gorgeous sky blue 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4 for sale.  This car is in pristine condition.
