THROWBACK THURSDAY: THE JEEP AN AMERICAN WAR HERO
The
original Jeep (which was called the “MB”), created in 1941, was made
specifically for military use during WWII.
It was the most versatile automobile the military had ever seen. The MB
is credited with modernizing warfare, and General Eisenhower even stated that
“America could not have won World War II without it.”
After
the war, the MB was repurposed for civilian use. The transition was a logical
one, given that the Jeep had already earned fame as a war hero. It has since
inspired a number of light utility vehicles in the decades that followed. But, “There’s
Only One”: Jeep.
